The Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance is excited to welcome Peyton Nailor to the team!

A 2026 graduate of the Ontario Agricultural College at the University of Guelph, Peyton brings a passion for sustainable agriculture, resilient food systems, and agricultural advocacy. Growing up in Guelph, Ontario, she developed a deep appreciation for the value of bringing together farmers, communities, and local partners to strengthen Ontario’s food and farming sector.

Through her studies in Crop Science and a variety of hands-on industry experiences, Peyton has gained valuable insight into the opportunities and challenges facing Ontario agriculture today. Her enthusiasm, fresh perspective, and commitment to supporting the agricultural sector make her a wonderful addition to the Alliance, and we look forward to the contributions she will make in advancing our work across the region.

During her time at the University of Guelph, Peyton embraced every opportunity to get involved in the agricultural community. From helping lead the Ontario Agricultural Leadership Conference to representing the University of Guelph on the Canadian Agri-food Marketers Alliance (CAMA) team, she has built a diverse set of experiences in leadership, communications, and industry engagement. One highlight was competing at the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) competition in St. Louis, where she worked alongside fellow students to develop and present innovative agricultural marketing strategies.

Peyton’s passion for agriculture extends beyond the classroom. Through undergraduate research supported by Grain Farmers of Ontario and internships with Bayer CropScience and Syngenta, she has explored both the science and business of agriculture, gaining valuable insight into the innovations shaping the industry and the real-world challenges faced by producers.

Her learning journey is far from over. This September, Peyton will begin a Master of Science in Plant Agriculture at the University of Guelph, where she will focus on computational biology and research aimed at improving nitrogen management in corn production systems.

When she’s not immersed in agriculture, Peyton enjoys discovering new cafés, spending time on the golf course, taking long walks, and making the most of patio season with friends and family.

As she begins her role with the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance, Peyton is excited to help strengthen connections across the food and farming sector and support initiatives that contribute to a vibrant and sustainable agricultural future. We are thrilled to have her join the team and look forward to the energy, ideas, and enthusiasm she will bring to the Alliance.
