On Thursday, March 26, 2015, Halton chefs, restaurateurs, farmers and tourism professionals are invited to the second annual Halton Region Food Tourism Summit – Steps to Sustainability. This event aims to bring together Halton’s food community to network, learn about innovative sustainable practices and industry initiatives and increase access to locally sourced foods.
“Regional Council is committed to supporting and preserving our active and vibrant agricultural community,” said Regional Chair Gary Carr. “This event is designed to develop strong relationships between our farming and culinary communities to help them put more locally sourced foods on restaurant tables, to encourage growth in the culinary tourism industry and to help support a sustainable local economy.”

The Halton Food Tourism Summit will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Country Heritage Park (Gambrel Barn) in Milton.
