At their AGM earlier this month, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) announced the winners of their Proud to Farm Photo Contest, which provides OFA members with the opportunity to share their pride in their farms, families and agricultural communities.
“There are endless challenges and pressures in agriculture today, and our Proud to Farm photo contest was a way to encourage Ontario farmers to pause for a few moments to look around and capture some of the incredible beauty and pride in our industry,” says Keith Currie, OFA President. “And we had a tremendous response with entries coming from all across the province, and we thank all Ontario farmers who took part.”
The contest received more than 450 entries from members across the province, separated into three categories: Proud to Farm, Farm Animals and Ontario Farm Scenes.
Congratulations to all the winners, including first prize winners Kendal Doerksen for Farm Animals as well as Farm Scenes, and the Grand Prize Winner of the Proud to Farm Farmers’ Choice Award, Morgan Murphy (image above)!
The top three winning photos in each category received a cash prize. The grand prize winner of the Farmers’ Choice Award, as voted by OFA members online and at the 2018 Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, received a brand-new Drone.
All winning photographs will be featured in the 2019 edition of OFA Today magazine – distributed to all members with their February issue of Better Farming.
