Monday, May 27, 2019

Are you thinking about exporting your business’s product into international markets?

The Niagara Foreign Trade Zone (NFTZ), with Niagara’s Economic Development Department and the Niagara Development Corridor Partnership Inc. (NDCPi), is hosting a series of upcoming Exporting Seminars.

The seminars will help connect exporters & manufacturers with relevant federal and provincial programs (e.g. tax and tariff export-related programs), as well as assist in market development, generating leads, risk mitigation, financing and more.

The Niagara Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Point is known as a one-stop shop for various businesses to access information on Canada’s FTZ policies and programs, with support from an integrated team of federal, provincial, regional and municipal regulatory agencies.

Last year, NFTZ seminars reached more than 150 businesses and serviced more than 75 companies. The region’s close proximity to the U.S. border puts it in an excellent position for trade.

It’s “your single contact point for accessing resources for all exporting needs,” explains Jayesh Menon, Niagara FTZ Manager. “Reach us and be confident to become competitive and effective in your exporting into the U.S. and the world.”

Of course, the agriculture sector is a significant player in Niagara’s economy, and that includes exports. The NFTZ website shares that in 2016, Niagara saw $110 million in agricultural / forestry / fishing / hunting exports.
